US cases of swine flu top 5,000 with six deaths

WASHINGTON (AFP) — The US government reported Monday more than 400 new cases of swine flu to take the nation's total number of infections above 5,000, and said it remained on guard for an autumn upsurge.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said the number of confirmed and probable cases in 47 states plus Washington's District of Columbia now stood at 5,123, up from 4,714 on Friday.

A teacher at a New York school who had been in critical condition for days died Sunday after being infected with the A(H1N1) virus, taking the US death toll to six. Only Mexico has suffered more deaths from the disease.

The CDC has downgraded a travel warning for Mexico but Anne Schuchat, director of the agency's center for immunization and respiratory diseases, took issue with media reporting that is now playing down the outbreak.

"The H1N1 virus is not going away, despite what you may have heard," she told reporters, stressing that the number of confirmed cases in the United States may be only the "tip of the iceberg."

"Unfortunately based on the trends we're seeing, we do expect more illness, more hospitalizations, and more deaths," Schuchat said, with more than 200 people already requiring hospital treatment in the United States.

The official backed the actions of New York authorities, where 12 schools around the city had been temporarily closed after suspicious outbreaks, forcing 11,000 children to miss classes.

"We cannot stop the virus from spreading. We should not be surprised to see more cases," New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg warned.

City officials said their fight against swine flu would focus on those weakened by pre-existing conditions, as was the case in the weekend death of the 55-year-old assistant principal at a school in the Queens neighborhood.

The US update followed a sharp increase in swine flu infections in Japan, which stoked fears that the virus may have taken hold in another continent beyond its source in North America.

The World Health Organization has warned that sustained transmission in a country in another region, without a direct link to travelers, would warrant the declaration of a global pandemic.

WHO chief Margaret Chan warned on Monday that the world might be facing the calm before a swine flu storm, as she faced pressure from Britain and other nations not to rush into declaring a pandemic.

Schuchat said she did not know if US officials attending the WHO's annual assembly in Geneva had sided with Britain in urging Chan to desist from a pandemic declaration.

But she said that such a declaration would add nothing to the "aggressive" efforts of US authorities to contain the outbreak.

"Things could change quickly and we do continue our efforts to prepare, particularly for the fall, where history tells us we might have a second wave of this virus," the CDC official said.

Cancer of the Body and Mind

I apologize in advance, before you even get started reading this article... BUT, I am disgusted with the Farah Fawcett cancer video project! (Let's watch some more children being abused or some other despicable inhumanity to another human being...) PLEASE!

After watching the news tonight and hearing about the sharks circling her barely living body, I wanted to grab heads and apply a quick snapping action between all of them.

She asked one of her friends, "Do you think the doctors will tell me how much time I have left?"... Let me answer you Farah... No, they will continue to "milk" her insurance company as she continues to be killed FROM the chemotherapy now. And then there's some guy arguing over getting his fair share of the filming of "documentary" he had agreed to... (That's a whole other pathetic story within this one.)

Every time I see another person suffer needlessly, I want to cry. The mockery of the people heightens for me when I see the most sincere and dear people, joyous as they participate in the "race for a cure" every year. Why?

Because cancer has been cured "over and over" with alternative treatments! I'm not talking about some acupuncture, herbal, "off the wall" weird treatment... I'm talking about the very science and proven results of people like Dr. Hulda Clark, who have dedicated their lives to the "science" of curing cancer.

The medical establishment does NOT want you to know and will NOT let you participate in any alternative if they have their way! (I'm speaking from first hand experience and testimonies of many of those I've consulted with their health issues.) It doesn't matter if the alternative works and theirs doesn't... they are "right" and you are an uneducated person that will never know more than their 10 years of medical training! Why do you think so many of them have ego's the size of Texas?

If you have cancer or have a friend or family member with cancer, I want you to know that there is a credible alternative to your being "burned alive" like Farah Fawcett and others in my own family have been treated. Some will listen and some will continue to trust in a horribly failed system of so-called treatment.

If you don't mind having your body parts cut away and being treated with a "fatality mentality," then by all means, put your faith in the doctors and do as they say!

It's true, one day we'll all die and face our creator, but as long as we're alive, shouldn't we want to live life healthy?

Texas Doctor Claims The Swine Flu Worse

A Texas Doctor Claims Swine Flu Cases Far Worse Than Reported, Level 6 Pandemic In Effect 300409top

A doctor in Texas claims that swine flu cases are at least ten times worse than officials are letting on, and that hospitals are becoming overwhelmed as the virus has already crossed the threshold to be considered a phase 6 global pandemic.

Dr. Marcus Gitterle, an emergency medicine physician based out of New Braunfels, Texas, sent out an internal alert which contains several stunning claims about swine flu that, if true, officials have presumably sought to keep from the public.

“After I returned from a public health meeting yesterday with community leaders and school officials in Comal County and Hays County, (name removed) suggested I send an update to my patients in the area, because what we are hearing privately from the CDC and Health Department is different from what you are hearing in the media,” writes Gitterle.

The doctor claims that the actual number of confirmed cases of swine flu is 10 to 25 times worse than has been reported, and that people are not recovering easily, as has been claimed, but that many Americans are in fact seriously ill.

“The way they fudge on reporting this is that it takes 3 days to get the confirmatory nod from the CDC on a given viral culture, but based on epidemiological grounds, we know that there are more than 10 cases for each “confirmed” case right now,” claims Gitterle.

“This has not been in the media, but a 23 month old in Houston is fighting for his life, and a pregnant woman just south of San Antonio is fighting for her life,” he writes.

Gitterle’s mention of a “23 month old in Houston” obviously refers to the Mexican toddler who died on Monday night and was announced as the first U.S. fatality on Tuesday morning.

Quick access to drugs like Tamiflu and Relenza, as well as ventilators, is preventing fatalities on the scale of Mexico, but Gitterle warns that “within a couple of weeks, regional hospitals will likely become overwhelmed”.

Gitterle warns, “ER’s south of here are becoming overwhelmed — and I mean that — already. It is coming in waves, but the waves are getting bigger.”

The doctor states that the severity of the situation has already crossed the threshold of the definition of a WHO phase 6 pandemic. “This has not happened in any of our lifetimes so far. We are in uncharted territory,” he writes.

Gitterle claims that President Obama is being advised to declare a national emergency and that this could happen within the next 48 hours.

“This may not happen, but if it doesn’t, I will be surprised. When this happens, all public gathering will be cancelled for 10 days minimum,” writes the doctor.

Gitterle advises people to avoid all public gatherings, especially those held indoors, to avoid going to their ER if they feel ill, and to take the nutritional supplements N-Acetyl-Cysteine and Oscillococinum. He recommends Relenza as a more powerful drug than Tamiflu but warns that supplies of both drugs are running out fast.

The doctor states that swine flu is infectious for about two days prior to symptom onset and that the virus can spread for more than seven days after symptom onset. The symptoms are the same as normal flu, although it has been discovered that swine flu causes a distinctive “hoarseness” in many victims.

“Since it is such a novel (new) virus, there is no “herd immunity,” so the “attack rate” is very high. This is the percentage of people who come down with a virus if exposed. Almost everyone who is exposed to this virus will become infected, though not all will be symptomatic. That is much higher than seasonal flu, which averages 10-15%. The “clinical attack rate” estimation from CDC and WHO may be around 40-50%. This is the number of people who show symptoms. This is a huge number. It is hard to convey the seriousness of this to those outside of the medical fields,” he writes.

Niacin...

Niacin is referred to as Vitamin B3 because it was the third of the B vitamins to be discovered. Niacin is suspected to decrease the possibility of introduction of certain types of cancer such like leukemia, as a result of increase levels of DNA-repairing coenzymes (NAD). Niacin is a water-soluble vitamin that’s an important component of the Vitamin B complex.

Do you want to be able to do something to decrease the chance that you or a loved one will ever die of cardiovascular disease?

Consider a B vitamin called niacin.

According to a University of Washington study, when niacin is taken with a statin, the combination reduces heart attack risk by up to 90%. Medical research supports this treatment, yet few people know about it and many primary care providers don’t prescribe it. I am strongly against “statins.” (For more on why, you can read Dr. Cohen’s revealing article here.

There is a better way to get the benefit naturally though. Take niacin with red yeast rice. The drug companies actually put red yeast rice in their statins for greater efficacy.

The benefits are as follows:

*It raises “good” HDL cholesterol and lowers triglycerides.

*It enlarges the smallest, densest, most dangerous particles so they are less likely to damage arteries, although it doesn’t lower “bad” cholesterol quite as much as statins do.

*It brings down levels of another harmful component of blood called lipoprotein (a), which is resistant to the benefits of statins, diet, and exercise.

We cannot get enough of this vitamin naturally in our diet to achieve these results. The RDA for niacin is 14 mg for women and 16 mg for men, (that’s almost like telling you that you should probably eat at least every two weeks) but to gain a cardiovascular benefit, you need 500 to 2,000 mg. At this dosage, flushing (skin reddens, warms, and sometimes slight itches) occurs. Although these side effects subside within an hour, it’s mildly unpleasant and because it is, doctors hesitate to prescribe it. (It’s strange at first, but it’s not that big a deal to me… I take it and endure the minor “flushing” experience.)

Flushing is a sign that the blood vessels are dilating in response to the niacin. Patients who flush ultimately raise their HDLs and lower their triglycerides more than those who don’t flush.

You can minimize those symptoms if the niacin is taken with aspirin, antihistamines, or a meal. (I recommend the meal)

Before taking niacin, consider the following:

Make sure you need it. You’re a good candidate for niacin therapy if you’re already taking a statin but your triglycerides are above 150 mg/dl and your HDLs are below 45 for men and 50 for women.

Niacin alone really has little benefit. It’s effective only when paired with a statin or (red yeast rice.) It generally isn’t prescribed on its own.

Be careful if you have prediabetes or diabetes. Niacin can raise levels of blood glucose. This effect is generally mild and doesn’t outweigh its heart-protecting benefits.

Consult with your health care professional if you have a question about niacin for you.

Is America's Brain... Dead?

This isn't a helpful article about anything, except the audacious, mind boggling honesty of the drug makers now.

I watched a commercial tonight, September 30th, 2008 for Chantix. It's a drug that claims a 44% success rate of helping a smoker quit. This commercial spent 20% of time telling us how it helps a person quit smoking and 80% of the remaining time listing the side effects....

They clearly tell you it may cause suicide, thoughts of suicide and other very disturbing possibilities.

Is this a new honesty from the drug companies or are they so confident that people don't care enough about serious side effects anymore, that they know enough people will still buy their poison in an attempt to gain the goal of the supposed purpose of the drug.

I don't know, but I was stunned by the thought of any product ever being so blatant about the facts of danger to an individual. It's like saying, "I dare you to take this." Arrogant disregard for failure...

Have we become so desperate, so stupid, so blind, that we will still buy a drug on the outside chance it will help us stop one addiction and risk our lives to do it?

If you haven't seen it yet... keep watching, especially on the network nightly news.

A Pretty Drug Rep Doesn't Pass Out Candy!

I have a friend whose been on two drugs (Neurontin and Methylphenidate) for many years for a neurotransmitter problem. I'm very concerned for him and the many side effects of using these drugs.

The side effects of these drugs:

* nervousness

* difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep

* dizziness

* nausea

* vomiting

* loss of appetite

* stomach pain

* diarrhea

* headache

* painful menstruation

* fast, pounding, or irregular heartbeat

* chest pain

* shortness of breath

* excessive tiredness

* slow or difficult speech

* dizziness or faintness

* weakness or numbness of an arm or leg

* seizures

* changes in vision or blurred vision

* agitation

* abnormal thoughts

* hallucinating (seeing things or hearing voices that do not exist)

* motor tics or verbal tics

* depression

* mood changes

* fever

* sore throat

* unusual bleeding or bruising

* muscle or joint pain

* hives

* rash

* itching

* difficulty breathing or swallowing

Imagine having your brain removed...(lobotomy)...A saw cutting
through your skull, followed by a surgical knife cutting into the
portion responsible for helping you cope with all the "meaness" in
the world. (You know, things like excessive income tax which makes
you work four months out of every year just to pay Uncle Sam. Or
inflation that ensures a lifetime of economic slavery for you and
your children. Or, the millions of helpless infants who are forced
to receive vaccines and subsequently suffer from autism.

Without the ability to cope, all kinds of craziness from the nastiness
in the world....depression, suicide, and murder would become a reality...And
this is exactly what an "SSRI" (antidepressant) can potentially
do at the molecular level - remove that portion of your brain that
helps you cope...

Maybe that's what happened to 81 year old Jordan Stone.

Thirteen days after taking Prozac, on April 28, 2003, Jordan's
wife of 56 years, Kathy, found his lifeless body hanging from a
beam in a back room of their shop. Not depressed at the time of
his appointment, Jordan was given a free sample of Prozac for "chest
pains!" Apparently, a pretty drug rep convinced Jordan's doctor
that Prozac could be used for these types of "off-label"
purposes. This is totally illegal, by FDA standards. But those standards
are never enforced by the consumer watch dog. Regardless of what
they are prescribed for, a "chemical lobotomy" is a real
and present danger to antidepressant users.

Antidepressant's strive to increase the levels of a "coping"
molecule known as serotonin in the brain. It helps us find happiness
when it's covered in an avalanche of negative. Antidepressant's
attempt to boost serotonin by "selectively" stopping the
"re-uptake" of it among brain cells. This is where the
whole SSRI acronym came from - "selective serotonin re-uptake
inhibitor." It's a clever name that seems to "blind"
medical doctors into prescribing submission, but it's a really stupid
idea.

Not much is selective in the body. While trying to block the re-uptake
of serotonin, antidepressant's can also prevent its release. The
areas of the brain responsible for release and re-uptake are so
incredibly similar (after all, they work on the same molecule) that
an antidepressant isn't smart enough to understand which one it's
supposed to work on. So it does what any drug would do, it blocks
both. The end result is no coping molecules in the brain. Depression,
fear or anger can set in. This was observed in the early studies
performed on antidepressant's, but test subjects were allowed to
drop out or mask the pain that comes with a chemical lobotomy using
pain killers and/or muscle relaxants. This served as an easy way
for Big Pharmaceuticals to hide the detrimental effects of antidepressant's

- FDA approval followed, and so has the ripple effect of suicide.

Truth doesn't stay hidden forever. FDA is proposing a "black
box" warning to outline the risk of suicide among all antidepressant's
such as Lexapro, Paxil, Prozac and Zoloft. If it was a nutritional
supplement, they'd throw the manufacturers in prison...But not for
the big drug companies, they just get a "black box" warning
on their products...

Antidepressant's block another coping molecule in the brain, "dopamine."
It's the molecule that lets you FEEL happiness. Dopamine yields
the feelings of love, accomplishment and victory. It's also the
molecule that keeps you protected from Parkinson's disease.

Aside from being a zombie, the Harvard School of Public Health
recently warned that due to lack of dopamine, people taking antidepressants
are nearly twice as likely to suffer from Parkinson's compared to
those not taking them.

By removing serotonin and dopamine from the brain, users can't
FIND or FEEL happiness. (A lobotomy - minus the saw and surgical
knife.) Instead, they become buried in the avalanche of negative...And
if you can't find or feel happiness in life, what's the point? What's
going to keep a person in this position from suicide or lashing
out at someone else?

Watch the news from Fox news. The ripple effect of these
drugs is staggering!

Watch the video at http://www.youtube.com/…Q2J0&rel=1

The ESSENTIAL amino acid L-tryptophan (not 5-HTP) is a much safer
alternative than antidepressant's. (Your body requires it, but can't
make it) It can be purchased at http://www.kqzyfj.com/…4-10504171- and it won't accidentally remove your coping
skills and throw you into suicide or rage.

Supplements that aid in a chemical process known as "methylation"
help coping too: Folic acid,
trimethylglycine and methylsulfonyl methane. They need to be used
properly to work properly.

Cure Acid Reflux Naturally

Cure Acid Reflux Naturally

Prescription medications have unwanted side effects, so many people look for natural cures for acid reflux. Most prescription medications were not designed to be taken for long periods of time. Herbal remedies for acid reflux are based on traditional medicine and traditional medicinal plants. Some of these are common food herbs which pose no danger for long-term use.

Stomach acid can damage the esophagus and lead to more serious conditions including cancer of the esophagus, so if you're seeing a doctor, continue to make sure your condition is not serious. If you're relying on natural cures for acid reflux and you become hoarse in the morning, develop a cough, or feel a need to clear your throat often, these may be symptoms of silent acid reflux. That's the term used to describe acid reflux that affects the voice box and the vocal cords, but doesn't cause heartburn symptoms.

Herbal remedies for acid reflux include chamomile, meadowsweet, slippery elm, fennel, catnip, angelica root, gentian root, ginger root and aloe. Slippery elm was used by native peoples to treat stomach upset, diarrhea, constipation, heartburn and other digestive complaints. Fennel and gingerroot were also common herbs used for the relief of indigestion. Modern herbalists have found that a combination of several of the herbs that had been used for indigestion could be effective for acid reflux. Natural “cures” for acid reflux is best accomplished by changes in lifestyle and eating habits.

Smoking must be stopped for real benefits. If you use herbal remedies for acid reflux and you don't stop using tobacco products, you may still have acid reflux and you're still at risk of developing esophageal cancer. The major risk factors include acid reflux, smoking and alcoholism.

Reduce or eliminate alcohol consumption. Alcohol increases stomach acid. Prescription and natural remedies for acid reflux are geared towards reducing or preventing excess stomach acid. It doesn't make sense to continue to drink alcohol when you've been diagnosed with acid reflux.

If you normally eat a large meal late in the evening, less than three hours before bedtime, then you're more likely to suffer from nighttime heartburn or other acid reflux symptoms like coughing. This is because acid is traveling up out of the stomach and into the throat. Raising the head of the bed will help acid reflux symptoms that occur at night. Gravity helps keep the acid in the stomach, but eating your last meal earlier and making it a smaller meal may prevent nighttime acid reflux altogether.

Weight loss should be mentioned as one of the natural cures for acid reflux. Overweight and obese people are much more likely to suffer from acid reflux, including nighttime acid reflux. Using herbal remedies for acid reflux control and making no effort to lose the extra pounds will be disappointing. Using prescription and/or natural remedies for acid reflux while you're trying to lose weight makes sense. Avoiding fried and fatty foods. If you avoid these and eat several small meals during the day then you may naturally lose weight and naturally cure acid reflux. Eating several small meals every couple of hours is much better for you and is often recommended by diet doctors, because it increases your metabolism and keeps blood sugar levels stable, so you don’t feel sleepy after a meal.
